ARE YOU EATING ENOUGH PROTEIN TO HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT?

If you're not eating protein every 3 hours,
then the answer is probably NO. If you are going 4-5
hours or more without eating protein, you are losing
muscle instead of fat. This will sabotage any efforts
to lose weight, and the resulting muscle loss will slow
your metabolism. To rev your metabolism and
maintain muscle, strive to eat 20-40 grams of lean
protein every 3 hours (or 1 gram per pound of
bodyweight). Include egg whites, skim milk, lean red
meats (95% lean ground beef or "round" steaks),
chicken or turkey breast, tuna and most fish, protein
shakes, and protein bars to get you on the road to
losing fat while maintaining muscle.
